Smith has been advancing ski goggle technology for over 40 years, and the brand is now synonymous with innovative, durable, top-quality ski and snowboard goggles. Smith have one of the most envied rosters of athletes in the market, and work with these elite performers to continually innovate and perfect the optics in their goggles. It is not only the technology that is cutting edge - Smith produce some of the most striking ski and snowboard goggles around.
Two essential elements to good vision are visual acuity, the ability to pick out details, and contrast sensitivity, the ability to judge differences in colour and recognise the distance between objects, near and far. Smith engineer all of their lenses through exhaustive research and testing to maximise both for truly enhanced vision.

The most common goggle problem is fogging which happens when the inner lens surface cools below the dew point. Humidity inside the goggle doesn't help - the more humid the air, the more potential for fog. Smith Scope goggles use a combination of technological advancements to help prevent lens fogging. While all Smith snow goggles employ frame ventilation using a breathable foam membrane, Smith also utilise patented fog prevention technologies to actively promote the circulation of air throughout the goggles.

Featured in Smith Scope Pro and Graphic snow goggles, the Airflow lens technology features vents in the brow of the lens that increase the circulation of fresh air to keep the inner lens dry and fog-free. A semi-porous foam filter is positioned behind the vents to prevent snow and moisture from infiltrating the goggle chamber.

Two single lenses bonded together with a sealed “dead air” space between them create a thermal barrier that keeps the inner lens warm and dry. Like storm windows—but much more comfortable—this process helps prevent fogging by keeping the inner lens above the dew point.

A hydrophilic chemical treatment creates a micro-etched surface on the inner lens to absorb moisture before fog can form. Because Fog-X is a treatment that is actually burned into the lens, it can’t be wiped away like other anti-fog coatings.
The key to ultimate integration starts with the precise fit of the Smith goggles and helmet. Smith helmets are designed to match the curvature of the goggle frame, eliminating “gaper gap” and allowing precise alignment between the helmet AirEvac and the goggle venting systems.
Goggles fog when standard helmets trap warm, moist air in the goggle chamber. The Smith AirEvac ventilation systems generate maximum airflow and pull warm, fog-causing air out of the goggles. The warm air is allowed to exhaust out of the top of the goggle and begin its path through the helmet’s AirEvac system.
AirEvac 2 continues to drive the warm air away from the goggle through external vents and internal channels in the EPS liner. Internal airflow can be adjusted through the ski helmet’s Regulator climate control system.
All Smith goggles are engineered to work in unison with the wide variety of human facial features. Sculpted around proven headlasts and constructed to provide optimum comfort and seal. It's no wonder why Smith is one of the biggest names in goggles.

A key element in goggle/helmet compatibility. Engineered to adjust to a full range of face shapes and sizes, the Articulating Outrigger Positioning System evenly transfers pressure across the brow and nose to ensure a complete seal against the face. When used with a helmet, the outrigger articulates, allowing the goggle frame to sink into the helmet face port, ultimately providing a comfortable and consistent fit every time.

Smith goggles use a unique urethane compound, which allows the goggles to conform to individual facial features while maintaining its flexibility in extreme cold temperatures.

A Smith innovation that strategically interrupts the urethane in the nose area of the goggle frame to provide a self-adjusting fit.

Smith's high quality, durable, double-woven strap distributes pressure more evenly around the head to provide superior fit, adjustability and comfort.
