In competitive sport you have to be ready for anything—especially changing light and weather conditions. That is why the Oakley Fast Jacket sunglasses were created with an updated version of Oakley's Switchlock Technology™, preparing you for anything the elements might throw at you.

The Oakley Fast Jacket sunglasses have open-edge lens architecture to give you an advantage when looking through the downward view, ideal for sports such as cycling, golf, running and triathlons.

The Oakley Fast Jacket sunglasses come with a hard storage case and two sets of lenses, one for bright conditions, one for low-light conditions. Transitions versions only come with one light ad-justing (photochromic) lens, but additional lenses can be purchased separately. As standard with all Oakley sunglasses, a microclear bag for lens cleaning and frame starage is also included.

Each frame comes with two sizes of interchangeable nosepads to help you get a precise fit. Like the earstem sleeves, they are made of Oakley's Unobtainium® that increases grip when you perspire. A Three-Point Fit keeps the optics precisely aligned while maximizing comfort by eliminating the pressure points that come with ordinary frames that hook your ears.

Oakley Switchlock Technology

Oakley took the idea of “adapt and conquer” to the extreme. The Oakley Fast Jacket sunglass is a performance product with a unique interchangeable lens design that lets you match your optics to your environment. It’s an innovation that locks the lenses in place with a quick release system. The Oakley Fast Jacket features two simple switches. In the “up” position, the lenses are locked in place. But with a quick flick to the “down” position, lenses can be effortlessly removed from the frame and replaced with a second lens-type.

Oakley Lens Suspention System

Stress sucks. It can compromise HDO by causing optical distortion. Introducing a revolutionary frame architecture that creates a suspension system for your lenses. They virtually float around the orbital space, isolated from compressive stresses for maximum optical clarity, comfort and fit.

High Definition Optics (HDO)

Proprietary geometries, high performance materials and state of the art design and production techniques allow Oakley to create sunglasses that maintains optical correction for refractive power, optical clarity and prismatic power. These three classifications are measured by a global stndard ANSI Z87.1 for optical performance ratings. Oakley is the gold standard and best in class, as evident in Private Pilot'magazine's sunglasses test results comparing all eyewear manufacturers.

Oakley HDPolarized

Oakley HDPolarized technology surpasses industry standard for clarity, performance and durability. Common techniques of incorporating polarisation films into lenses by lamination (using adhesive to sandwich the film between lens layers) and drop forming (sandwiching then heating and pressing over contoured forms) can cause haziness and optical distortion. Instead, Oakley uses an injection-molding process to infuse the lens material around the filter. The liquid fusion creates bonding at the molecular level, allowing the filter to achieve the highest possible level of performance.

Hydrophobic

Oakley has developed a proprietary hydrophobic lens treatment that repels water, oil, perspiration and dust, which makes cleaning sunglasses a breeze. Oakley's hydrophobic coating is available in two forms; it comes as a standard permanent lens treatment on certain select Oakley sunglasses, including the Oakley Flak Jacket sunglasses and Oakley Jawbone sunglasses, and also comes in a user-applied cleaning and hydrophobic kit.

Photochromic

Oakley sunglasses are available with photochromic technology to darken and lighten automatically in response to changing light. They help you adapt to changing light. They help you adapt to changing conditions while filtering  out 100% of harmful UV. Not to mention the added visual quality and comfort of having sunglasses that aren't too dark when the sun pulls a disappearing act, or too light when it knifes through the clouds.

Impact Protection

The lens materials and frame geometries of Oakley sunglasses provide unsurpassed protection against high-velocity and high-mass impact. For high-velocity impact testing, a quarter-inch steel shot is blasted froam a pneumatic cannon at 102 mph / 164 kmh. The high-mass impact test uses a metal spike (more than half a pound of weight / half a kilo) dropped from over four feet. The unique combination of wrapped, raked-back lens geometries and durable Plutonite lens material lens material allows Oakley eyewear to exceed the standards of these impact tests, established by the American National Standards Institute.

UV Protection

Oakley sunglasses provide unbeatable protection against the damaging rays of ultraviolet radiation. The Oakley Plutonite lens material inherently blocks 100% UVA, UVB, UVC and harmful blue light. The protection is formulated into the lens material, as opposed to a thin surface film that can become scratched, leaving dilated pupils exposed to ultraviolet leaks. Shielding has nothing to with the darkness or colour of the lens, so even clear Oakley lenses provide full protection. The wrapped, raked-back architecture of Oakley sunglasses provides further protection by blocking UV from the periphery.

Plutonite Lens Material

Lightweight Plutonite lens material offers superior comfort, clarity and protection against impact and ultraviolet radiation. Maintaining the proven safety charateristics of Oakley sunglasses, the impact-resistant material blocks 100% of all UVA, UVB, UVC and harmful blue light. Plutonite is the only lens material able to achieve the performance standards required by the digital design and production technologies utilised by Oakley.

Iridium Lens Coatings

Oakley Iridium lens coatings allow the wearer to tune transmission for any light condition. Superheated metallic oxides are fused to the lens at the molecular level, permanently bonding to create a uniform filtering layer that optimises contrast and minimises glare. Tuned to transmit from 9% to 92% of available light, the coatings are specifically formulated for optimal balance between reflection, transmission and absorption, depending on the targeted environment for usage.

Three-Point Fit

Oakley sunglasses are engineered to maintain a comfortable, secure fit. The company's patented Three-Point Fit ensures that each frame makes contact only at the bridge of the nose nd behind the temples. This retains optics in perfect alignment and eliminates the discomfort of ordinary frames that hook the ears and mount with unbalanced pressure points. Some earstems are sheathed in Unobtainium, an Oakley innovation that actually increases grip with perspiration.

Frame Composition

Engineering breakthroughs in structural materials allow Oakley to produce lightweight, high performance sunglasses that maintain superior protection and comfort. The polymers in O Matter sunglasses are formulated for high durability, as well as controlled flexibility for improved safety during impact. To produce the ultra-strong, ultra-lightweight chassis of Oakley wire frames, five metallic compounds are fused into a cingle C-5 alloy. Both frame materials maintain resistance to ultraviolet radiation, humidity, thermal shock and chemical exposure.
