Prescription Options

Because we approach sports vision from a professional perspective we are committed to providing the best prescription (Rx) option for every athlete, this is an overview of the principal choices available:

Exactly the same as a pair of glasses you would buy from an optician, but with the perfect tint and optimum protection. However, because most sports eyewear is highly wrapped, it is impossible to glaze high prescriptions - why not use our prescription filter to find out exactly what is available for your prescription? Simply select 'My Prescription' in the taskbar above.

Inserts-Image.jpgPrescription inserts/Optical adaptors/Clip-ins

Prescription lenses clip in behind sunglasses or goggles. They ensure that you do not have to compromise your vision to have the frame of your choice, either to optimise protection or purely for style. Plus, they allow contact lens wearers the flexibility to choose when they wear their contacts, should the conditions dry them out for example. Prices INCLUDE lenses, insert and glazing - no hidden extra costs.

Flipup-Image.jpgFlip-up lenses

When the environment is liable to change suddenly, flip-ups provide the ultimate solution. Get the benefit of a tinted outer lens that can flip-up to reveal a pair of clear prescription lenses. Furthermore, the prescription lenses can be removed if you would prefer to wear contacts. Or, wear them as standard sunglasses by placing the tinted lenses in the primary frame which was holding the clear lenses. Flip-ups offer unparalleled flexibility to prescription wearers, especially occasional contact lens wearers. And, unlike others, we only glaze the prescription lenses in polycarbonate - so you're assured protection at all times. Confused? Intrigued? See our page dedicated to Rudy Project's Exception.

Over The Glasses (OTG)

Goggles that have been engineered to be deep enough to accommodate everyday glasses in a secure fog-free environment behind a protective lens.

Contact lenses

Finally, wear your usual contact lenses, but ensure you have the best protection and look for your chosen sport by choosing any frame from our extensive non-prescription eyewear range.

Single Vision or Varifocals?

For almost all sporting requirements, single/distance vision eyewear is the most appropriate choice. Therefore, the prescription options we offer online only ever include single vision lenses.  Nonetheless, varifocals or bifocals are possible on virtually all of our glasses, but these are not listed online. They will also cost more than the prices you see online - usually an extra £50-£100. Therefore, we ask that you call us on 01733 270771 to discuss your requirements, and we can provide you with an accurate quote.
