WraparoundWraparound

The wrapped shape of sports eyewear is not merely a product of style. By increasing the protection from harmful rays, flying debris, wind and rain, as well as enhancing athletes peripheral vision, wraparound lenses provide a pivotal role in improving and protecting your sporting vision.

Optical Centring

To counter the raked look of wraparound sunglasses there is a need to realign the optical axis to off-centre. Although a subtle adjustment, without it eye-fatigue, headaches and ultimately eye-damage can develop. All of our directly-glazed prescription eyewear goes through this process to optimise your performance vision.

UVA/UVN ProtectionUVA/UVB Protection

All of our products offer 100% UVA and UVB protection. UV exposure can cause snow blindness (painful and upsetting damage to the front section of the eye) exposure to UV has been shown to cause long-term ocular damage. It has been proven that UV exposure leads to an increased incidence of cataract and macula degeneration later in life. Finally, most of the annoying glare we experience comes from the UV and blue end of the visible spectrum.

International Standards

All of the eyewear in our range feature lenses that have surpassed British, European or American safety tests for optical clarity, impact resistance and sun protection.

PolarisationPolarisation

Glare is an inevitable problem in countless sports, not just those on water and snow. Whether it is sand, roads or just about any other flat surface, light reflects back into your eyes and in effect gives you a double dose of light energy. But polarized lenses, available as an option for almost all of the brands we stock, enhance your vision by eliminating this annoying glare and reducing the resultant eye fatigue.

Photochromic/Transitions/Reactolite

Light adjusting lenses that react to UV exposure. The brighter the conditions, the dakrer then lens goes.

Anti Reflective Coating (AR)

Ensures crystal clear optics by eliminating annoying back glare, whilst simultaneously reducing eye strain and eye fatigue.

Anti Fog Coating (AF)

Together with the action of ventilation systems the hydrophilic coating permanently bonded to the inside of the lens absorbs moisture before fog forms.

Mirror Coating (MC)

A special treatment that gives the lens a shiny mirror-like appearance that reflects rays from surfaces such as water, snow and ice and increases light filtration.

Hydrophobic Lenses

This treatment weakens surface tension to facilitate run-off of water droplets from the lens surface, thus reducing distortion arising when wearing glasses around water or simply in the rain.

Interchangeable Lenses

As ever the elements have the final say as to which piece of eyewear is the best performer on the day. But, rather than carrying two or three separate pairs around, interchangeable lenses provide a perfect solution.
