Eye on – Dragon Goggles

December 2019

Rider designed and community inspired

When it comes to snow, Dragon know their stuff. Started back in 1993, when Jurassic Park, Mrs Doubtfire and Cliffhanger all graced the silver screen, Dragon founder Will Howard was busy developing eyewear that would embrace his passion for surf, snow and dirt bikes. Primarily distributing sunglasses to local surf shops it wasn’t long until they went global and naturally progressed into the snow goggle market.

By working with some of the biggest names in snowboarding such as Jamie Lynn, Gigi Ruf, Bryan Iguchi and Danny Davies, they have been able to not only push boundaries of goggle design but the sport too. Dragon are credited with creating the first truly frameless goggle in 2011, which has become a staple for many skiers and boarders over seasons.

Thanks to Dragon we not only have a huge range of frameless goggles that look awesome, but a range which are also packed full of tech.

Swiftlock

Dragon swiftlockCertainly one of the fastest lens change systems on the market, Swiftlock Technology enables riders to change lenses instantly, providing a faster, easier and more secure way to adapt instantly to changing light conditions.

The easy on-and-off mechanism uses a pair of small, lock levers integrated into the goggle frame. Simply flip the levers up to release the lens, pop in the new one, and with one quick motion, lock it down.

Check out the video below to see how simple it really is.

Lumalens

LumalensLumalens is a colour-optimised lens technology offering ultra high-definition optics across the entire spectrum of light conditions, helping you See More, React Faster and Perform Better than ever. Dragon PXV & PXV2

In 2018 Dragon pushed the boundaries again when they launched the PXV goggle, featuring their Panotech lens, by using a unique toric lens design they have been able to wrap the frame more which offers expanded sight lines in a visually stunning package. The field of view out of these is amazing, it’s just like looking out of a window.

In 2019 they’ve released the PXV2 Goggle which also has the features of last seasons PXV goggle but they’ve added Swiftlock, what more could you want!

You can view the full Dragon collection here and don’t forget you can also get them in prescription too.
