The concepts, technologies, and materials used and implemented for these helmets were developed in close collaboration with POC Lab; POC’s scientific forum that consists of some of the world’s foremost sports medicine experts, brain scientists and specialists in spinal cord injuries. Some of the most cutting-edge technologies can be found in this range, including POC's revolutionary new SPIN technology, designed to reduce the impact of oblique falls and impacts.
Founded in 2005, POC set out to improve ski racing safety. After POC athlete Julia Mancuso won gold in the giant slalom at the 2006 Winter Olympics, the manufacturer's profile grew and diversified to provide protection for a wide range of sports.
A feature unique to POC's leading helmets is the patent-pending SPIN (Shearing Pad INside) protection system, designed to provide an additional element of protection from violent rotational forces on the brain in oblique impacts.
POC's fast growing reputation for quality has been combined with bold unfussy designs. Consequently, POC helmets are one of the most distinctive sights, on the road, the trail, and at top level competitions around the world.
