PHOTOCHROMIC: YES OR NO?

Lenses that are clear at night and then progressively darken as the conditions brighten sound ideal for riding. However, standard photochromic lenses are next to useless for most bikers, as they react to UV, which is blocked by most helmet visors. Thankfully, lens manufacturers have finally developed solutions that will work inside a car, and these are also ideal for use behind a visor:

PRESCRIPTION

Directly glazed lenses tend to be most popular for bikers. For those who wear varifocals day-to-day, there is no reason to change on the bike, as they will help you keep an eye on the gauge! The varifocals we use major on the distance correction, which is also ideal for motorcycle use.

Naked Eye
Selected Lens
GREY - Neutral lens tint, ideal for very bright days.
GREEN - A grey-green lens, rather than a bright green. This lens is very similar to a grey lens, but can be slightly more soothing. As such, it is ideal for longer rides, as it can relax your eyes. Not as much contrast enhancement as brown.
BROWN - A lens for bright conditions, but with added contrast enhancement (without affecting the true perception of colours). The contrast enhancement improves versatility, so you will be able to use this in partial cloud cover too.
YELLOW - In the past yellow lenses were popular for road use. It has now been proven that they reduce visual performance and lengthen reaction times at night, even if they feel comfortable to wear. Yellow lenses can be worn in overcast conditions, as their brightening effect can enhance contrast.
