Variable Elasticity Advanced Hybrid Shell
The unique lightweight Advanced Hybrid shell construction is a combination of an in-mold helmet and a hard shell helmet. The hard shells reinforce the circumference of the helmet helping to transfer the load of impacts in critical areas, while the in-molded areas ensures elasticity is kept where needed.
Hybrid shell helmets are able to deliver impact protection comparable to that of hard shell helmets while keeping weight and ventilation closer to the standards of an in-mold shell design.
MIPS - Multi-Directional Impact Protection System
A unique technology developed to reduce brain injuries. MIPS reduces the rotational forces on the brain by up to 50% by allowing the helmet to slightly rotate relative to the head. Conventional helmets are tested by dropping them vertically onto a flat surface. MIPS is designed to deal with how most accidents actually occur, with oblique impacts to the head. MIPS sets a new standard in helmet safety.
Helmets with Impact Shields feature a moulded shock absorbing EPS liner with Impact Shield inserts that provide unsurpassed performance for shock absorbance. This is Sweet's premium impact protection technology. It distributes impacts from the inside of the helmet over larger areas in the crucial front and back zones where your head needs it.
One Turn Ventilation
22 vents in the top of the helmet shell are fully adjustable with the simple turn of a dial on the rear of the helmet. The Turn Dial Vent System gives complete control over airflow through the helmet, meaning you can warm up or stay cool depending on weather conditions.

Earpads cradle the ears rather than compressing them into the pad, enhancing comfort and hearing ability. Compatible with aftermarket drop-in audio systems.
Occigrip Turn Dial Fit System
A low volume helmet adjustment system that is easy to use. Provides a firm and comfortable fit and prevents the helmet from rolling on your head.
MIPS is used to reduce the rotational forces to the brain in the case of an oblique impact. Smith helmets are created to absorb direct impacts very efficiently and when combined with MIPS, Smith helmets absorb oblique forces better by allowing a small rotation of the outer shell relative to the liner.
When you fall to the ground at an angle rotational forces are generated. A helmet integrating MIPS technology creates a sliding layer between the outer shell and the head. This allows the helmet's outer shell to slide relative to the head when hitting the ground, so the rotational force is decreased, reducing the potential to damage your brain.
