What are the best ski goggles for kids?

Goggles provide the ultimate visibility and protection by keeping the wind and the snow out while also protecting from low impacts and UV rays. To keep the little adventurers safe and looking good on the slopes, we’ve compiled a list of great googles for different ages, across lots of brands and styles.

All the goggles we recommend are single frame to remove the need for changing lenses at the top of the run. They also all have cylindrical lenses, the original design of ski goggles, that are still the most popular today due to the great optical clarity that they offer.

To optimise fit, we recommend using the same brand of helmet and goggle for seamless compatibility. Designed to reduce pressure across your face and helping to create a perfect seal. Read about the best ski helmets for kids here.

Choosing the right lens is essential for a good day on the mountain. Protecting the kids from the harsh glare of the snow on sunny days and having the best contrasted vision on whiteout days is key to keeping them safe on the slopes.

Little ones: age 3-6

POC POCito Opsin Ski goggle are perfect for the little ones just starting out on the slopes.

With a reputation of producing great quality ski goggles, POC’s most popular children’s goggle is no different. With three layers of face foam, these will sit comfortably all day, while superb lens venting will ensure clear vision the whole day.

The durable cylindrical lens offers great peripheral vision.

Middle: age 7-10 Kids medium to large

Scott Jr Witty Single Lens Ski Goggles

OptiView is a single lens with anti-fog treatment for all-day clarity on the mountain. Great for low-light conditions while also able to adapt on sunnier days. A non-slip silicone lined strap keeps the goggles in place.

Older: age 11-15 kids large

Anon Tracker 2.0 Ski Goggles

Soft and flexible TPU frame makes these goggles super comfortable for full days on the mountain. An adjustable silicon-lined strap allows for the perfect fit that won’t budge.

There’s a range of three different lenses to choose from in this model, all of which are treated to anti-fog for consistent clarity. All the lens options are good for multi-purpose use, especially in cloudier conditions.

Oakley Target Line S ski goggles

Comes with a range of different lens options for different weather conditions. For an all-purpose lens, we recommend the Dark Grey or Violet Iridium lens. For low light conditions, the Fire Iridium lens, Hi Yellow Iridium and Persimmon are all good options.

Triple-layer face foam makes these googles very comfy on the face and OTG (over the glasses) design allow glasses to be worn underneath the goggles.

Prescription ski goggles for kids

For kids that wear glasses, we recommend OTG (over the glasses) goggles or getting custom made prescription inserts that fit inside the goggle.

OTG goggles are the most popular solution for children who wear glasses, however Prescription goggle inserts that clip into the frame of the goggle and prevent the need to wear glasses can also be purchased. At RxSport our team of optical experts can fit prescription inserts for kids goggles instore.

Caring for your goggles

To care for your goggles and stop them from getting scratched, we recommend using a goggle sock that goes over the lens when you aren’t using them. Reflective mirror lenses tend to show scratches more easily, so it is particularly important to take extra care with these!
