In all seriousness, we simply think that single vision and varifocals are better options, and a lot of the manufacturers we deal with do not offer bifocal options either. That being said, we do offer a very specific bifocal Reader lens in our prescription ski goggles. This is because ski goggles do not work effectively with varifocal lenses. Equally, if you would prefer a bifocal lens, please contact us, and we will do our utmost to help out.

Varifocal lenses can take a bit of adjustment in some cases. We recommend that you get used to varifocal lenses in everyday glasses before trying varifocal wraparound sunglasses. This is because wrapped lenses can take a short period of adaptation in a very small proportion of people. As such, if there is any issue it is hard to isolate the root cause.

Simply, OTG (Over The Glasses) goggles are designed to fit over the top of your everyday glasses. They tend to have cutaways in the foam or frame moulding which to avoid undue temple pressure.

Personal choice and preference over the look and how they feel in the flesh will always be key. As such, we offer a 28 day free returns service - as well as free UK delivery!

We recommend using the cloth or microfibre bag that accompanied your glasses. If they are particularly dirty, you can use warm water, or optical cleaning sprays/solutions. Do not use any solvents!

Package the glasses back up in the original trial box, attach the pre-paid returns label. Take the package to your local post office. Please retain proof of postage when returning your trial.

You must return all trial items to us, before we will send out the final prescription order!

The trial service is designed to replicate the experience you have in a shop or optician's practice. Try them on, show your friends or family, but please do not take the glasses out for a 10km run or a round of golf!

Using the pre-paid returns label, the package must be sent back to us within 7 days of receipt. If you are struggling to access a post office to return, our team will happily arrange a courier collection of the parcel from your address for £5.

You will receive 3 pairs of non-prescription samples and a pre-paid returns label. We cannot guarantee sending exact frame colours on the trial as the main purpose is to check fit and feel but we will try to match your preference where possible.

The Home Trial is designed for prescription wearers to try their eyewear for fit and feel before committing to the purchase of a custom-made product. We offer a free 14 day returns policy for non-prescription eyewear and encourage customers to make full use of this facility.

There is a £7.95 charge for the service, which covers the outward postage and a pre-paid returns label.

There are a lot of variables that will affect the final thickness of the lenses - frame size, lens material, prescription strength and pupil distance. We can often provide thickness calculations, but we will need to know all of these details, and it is not always possible. Please contact us, and we will always do our best to help out.

The General Optical Council classify under 16s and those registered sight impaired as restricted categories and best supplied face to face by a registered optician, so we cannot supply prescription eyewear remotely if you fall into these groups. Our Dispensing Opticians are happy to see you here in the showroom to supply glasses or we chat through best options and even supply frames for the prescription to be fitted locally to make sure you can find the best eyewear.

Yes, we offer varifocals as an option on all of our everyday glasses and prescription sunglasses. We do not offer any of our goggles with varifocals. Read more about varifocals here.

We offer a wide range of sizes, with sizing information provided on the individual product pages. Generally smaller goggles are preferred by women and guys with smaller heads. That being said, there has been a shift towards larger 'over-sized' goggles in recent years. These offer a cool look, and also open up a wider field of view. With adjustable straps on every set of goggles we sell, you will find most goggles fit most people. Overall, it depends on personal preference, and how the goggles fit with your helmet. Remember we offer a 14 day returns service, and you are also always welcome to come and visit our showroom.

For traditional goggles, gently separate the frame from the lens, remove the lens carefully and store in a clean and dry location. To reinsert, you will see little notches that align to matching grooves in the frame. Start with the nose bridge and work your way out to the sides and finish with the top notches.

It is inserts all the way for goggles right now. This allows you change the outer lens to match the weather, keeps costs down and makes prescription changes less of a headache. That being said, we know some people really want a direct glaze. When the technology catches up, rest assured RxSport will be the #1 place to look!

Good goggle care is just as important as specific products/features.

1. Keep the goggles where they belong - on your face, not on your helmet!
2. Keep the vents clear - not blocked with face masks/scarves/etc.
3. Put the goggles on warm - keep them close to you, so they are as close to body temperature when they go on. Don't leave them in boot rooms overnight!

Look for products with maximum ventilation - both frame and lens vents. Also, the more expensive goggles in a range will tend to be equipped with premium anti-fog coatings, which will really make a difference. These goggles also tend to have better quality foam, which will help to wick moisture away, and so your lens stays fog-free.

Matching brand certainly helps for many people, as the brands have often designed the two products in conjunction. You will find that the vents line up perfectly, which will help to avoid fogging and overheating. Plus, you can match colours to look as cool as snow! However, it is not essential. We would always recommend choosing your ideal goggle and helmet first, and then checking compatibility after. Personal preference on fit/look and individual face/head shape means that there is no 100% rules in this area!

MIPS stands for multi-directional impact system. According to MIPS themselves:

"MIPS sets a new standard in helmet safety. Developed by brain surgeons and scientists to reduce rotational forces on the brain caused by angled impacts to the head. In a helmet with MIPS Brain Protection System the shell and the liner are separated by a low friction layer. When a helmet with MIPS Brain Protection System is subjected to an angled impact, the low friction layer allows the helmet to slide relative to the head".

Found across a number of our key brands - Smith, Giro, POC, Scott - this is a technology we wholeheartedly endorse. In short, the technology has been developed to protect your brain more effectively from the reality of ski crashes, which rarely involve direct impacts.

All of our helmets feature venting systems. The more expensive the helmet, often the more sophisticated the ventilation. Look out for rider-controlled set-ups, so you can open things up when the sun is blitzing, and shut them when snow is in the air. Liners are removable in almost all of our helmets, so you can ride with a beanie if you prefer, but more importantly you can give it a wash at the end of a week's hard shredding!

Our biggest helmets are produced by Smith. Their XL features a BOA fit system that goes from 63-67cm. Alternatively, Giro's XL goes from 62.5-65cm. In terms of small helmets, check out the Bern Camino/Camina, Smith Holt Junior, Anon Rime and Giro Crue MIPS. All of these have adjustable fit systems that can be cranked down to a tiny 48cm!

Different manufacturers break up their sizes in different ways, and this will often depend on the fit system used. As a result, we recommend that you measure your head before buying a helmet.

Yes, the UV protection comes from the lens material or a coating. It is not connected to the depth of tint of the lens.

Neutral lenses provide shade from the brightness of the sun, simply by darkening the environment. Contrast enhancing lenses will darken certain colours more than others, and as a result they can make particular objects or features stand out.

These are lenses that start off darker at the top, and lighten towards the bottom of the lens. Popular for driving and fashion sunglasses!

Polarised lenses eradicate glare, which is caused by reflected light rays. This is particularly useful around water or whilst driving.

Photochromic lenses are lenses that darken on exposure to UV, in other words they become sunglasses when you go outside on a sunny day! They are also known as light-adjusting, Transitions, Reactolite, Modulator, reactive etc etc etc.
